Things Overheard...

We are on day 5 of what is turning out to be a seven day weekend - the sleet that came in on Tuesday has turned the county into a veritable skating rink and there aren't enough bobcats to scrape it up. Anyway, the plus side is that we've had a lot of quality family time and I've learned some very interesting things from my kids:

Abby: Mom! Did you know that animals that are awake at night are Not Turtles? (Nocturnal).

Peter to Abby: All the animals at the Zoo were born in the wild and forest rangers capture them and bring them there. (Note: Peter wants to be a forest ranger.)

Power of advertising:
Peter: MOM! If we get a dog, we need to get Beneful because it has all the ingredients a dog needs for a healthy and active life.
Peter: MOM! If we have another baby we need to get Huggies, because they keep babies dryer.
Peter: MOM! One thing I don't understand, how come you have to be 18 years or older to order things from TV? Why can't you be 6 years or something?
ABBY: MOM! You NEED to see this....I WANT THAT! (repeat)

Photo is Wayne experimenting with making Kettle Corn in the fireplace...yum!
