Community Easter Egg Hunt

As if a birthday party wasn't enough, it was also the Community Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. So after a very short recovery period, we loaded the kids up in the wagon and practically ran to the park just in time for the egg hunt. Last year it was cold and rainy so hardly anyone showed up and the kids racked up the eggs. This year it was gorgeous so there was lots of competition.

Wayne talking strategy with the kids before the rope was lowered.

And they're off! Note how far ahead Peter is already (in front of the boy in the white and pink shirt). Abby lost sight of Peter immediately and was so worried about finding him that she didn't pick up eggs and only ended up with two. Peter, being more focused on the task at hand, picked up a basket full but gladly shared with Abby when he saw her near empty basket.

The park also had a moon bounce and other spring themed games, so we stuck around for about an hour talking with friends and letting the kids play. By the time we were back to the house, Wayne and I were ready for a nap, but the kids were still raring to go. That night, however, Abby literally fell asleep before her head hit the pillow and Peter wasn't far behind...and for that matter, neither were Wayne and I!
