In my belated Thanksgiving post I mentioned that we were blessed to be witness to the blessings of others, and one of those is meeting the lovely new daughter of our friends Laura and Scott. Laura and Scott are the parents of Peter and Abby's friend Tyler, a wonderful exuberant boy with what I'm sure will go down in history as one of the 10 best smiles of all times. They had been trying for a while to adopt a baby sister from the same region of Russia where they adopted Tyler but it seemed like there was nothing but obstacles in their way. But, this summer they were able to bring baby sister home, and what a treasure she is. She is incredibly smart and gets this great sparkle in her eye when she does something that she knows is too cute to ignore.
It is so easy sometimes to focus on all the little (and big) things that go wrong...so I can't adequately express the feeling of watching them come into the airport with their daughter. In that moment it felt like things made sense, that really good things happen to really good people.
